What to Expect as a New Patient
Beginning psychiatric care can feel overwhelming.
At Embrace Psychiatry, the process is designed to be clear, structured, and respectful of your time. From your first appointment through ongoing follow-up, care is delivered with consistency, clinical judgment, and defined expectations.
Service Area & Location Requirements
Embrace Psychiatry provides care through Telehealth for patients located in Idaho, Utah, Oregon, and Washington. Due to medical licensing regulations, patients must be physically located in an approved service state at the time of their appointment.
If you are unsure whether services are available in your location, we recommend confirming availability before scheduling to ensure uninterrupted care.

Booking Your First Appointment
Online Scheduling
Appointments can be scheduled directly through our secure online booking system, allowing you to choose a time that works best for your schedule. Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation with next steps.
Intake Forms
Prior to your first appointment, you’ll complete confidential intake forms that help your provider understand your history, symptoms, and goals. Completing these forms in advance allows your visit to focus on meaningful clinical discussion.
Insurance & Self-Pay
We work with many insurance plans and offer clear self-pay options when insurance is not used. Coverage, copays, and fees are reviewed upfront so there are no surprises.

The Initial Evaluation
Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation designed to understand your concerns in context, not just as a list of symptoms. This visit allows time to review your mental health history, current challenges, prior treatments, medical background, and goals for care.
The evaluation is collaborative and unhurried, with space to ask questions and discuss treatment options thoughtfully. If medication is recommended, risks, benefits, and alternatives are reviewed together. The goal of the initial visit is clarity, accurate diagnosis, and a treatment plan that makes sense for you moving forward.
Care Process & Expectations
Follow-Up & Ongoing Care
Follow-up appointments provide continuity and allow your provider to monitor progress, adjust treatment, and address new concerns over time. Ongoing care is structured, consistent, and tailored to your needs.
Communication Between Visits
Secure messaging is available for limited clinical or administrative questions and is reviewed during normal business hours. Changes in symptoms or medications typically require a scheduled appointment.
